This class will teach you how to use herbs for winter wellness and how to incorporate the use of medicinal plants into your family's lifestyle. Avoid the unhealthy side effects of antibiotics and over the counter cold medication. Together we will make herbal syrups, teas and honeys that everyone in the family will enjoy. Learn how to make restorative healing soups and foods that actually rid the body of colds. We will cover recipes to help with coughs, colds, sinus problems, sore throats and many other winter ailments.

Botanical Adventures

We will travel to beautiful herb gardens, herb schools and places where the wild plants grow. Once a month we meet in a different location to identify, gather and learn about the plants in their own environment. This is a course where we journey to beautiful places to celebrate the plants and learn how to use them in our lives. We meet on the third Saturday of each month, April through October. Come Experience: Learning medicinal and edible uses of regional plants, field processing and preparation of herbs, the art of wild crafting, herbal gardening, wild and fresh herbal foods, plant identification and harvesting, Earth healing meditations, herbal medicine making

Winter is a great time to nourish your body, stock the medicine chest and focus on your personal healing. As we keep the hearth warm and the medicinal teas brewing, we journey into many of my favorite healing winter modalities. You will learn to care for yourself and your loved ones and experience preparing many different kinds of healing herbal medicines. Herbal teas, healing infusions, medicinal syrups, antibacterial honeys, cold and flu remedies and tonic winter foods are some of the projects we make together

This is a hands-on class in which you learn herbs, foods and Ayurvedic lifestyle approaches to make this a healing time of year for you. We will also discuss herbal prevention and treatment for many common, winter sicknesses.
